Taper

Privacy

Taper doesn't collect any data about you. There are no accounts with us, no analytics and no ads.

Your recordings, photos and videos stay on your device unless you choose to upload or share them. If you upload, they go to your own item on the Internet Archive and follow archive.org's policies.

Signing in to archive.org

When you sign in, your archive.org email and password go to archive.org to get upload keys. We don't keep the password. The keys are stored in your device's Keychain.

Song title suggestions

If you use song title suggestions, the artist and song text you type goes to MusicBrainz to look up titles. Nothing that identifies you is sent.

Sync Devices

If you use Sync Devices, your phone talks straight to your other device over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Nothing goes through a server.
